Closing event of Tát-Tokod pilot project

Participants at the closing event were the representatives of invited stakeholders and project partners, including Dr. Csaba Kancz, government representative of County Komárom-Esztergom, Mr. Balázs Steindl, vice-president of the Assembly of County Komárom-Esztergom, Ms Tímea Ruzsbaczkyrepresenting the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway, Mr Lajos Turi, mayor of Tát and Mr Tivadar Tóth, mayor of Tokod, as well as colleagues representing the Norwegian project partner, the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, Ms Csilla Farkas and Ms Esther Bloem. Project partners were honoured to welcome the representatives of the Regional Environmental Centre, the intermediary body of the programme, and the representatives of organizations involved in the professional implementation of the project.

The host of the event, Mr Lajos Turi, mayor of Tát made a welcome speech and gave a short overview of the significance of the project in the everyday life of the two settlements.

On behalf of the Regional Environmental Centre Ms Judit Bálint, expert and programme manager of EEA Grants, made a presentation on the objectives and professional content of Programme no. HU04 entitled Adaptation to Climate Change in Hungary. The methods and also the achievements of project implementation were presented by Mr György Parragi in a series of slides showing illustrative photos on water-related problems in the settlement and the solutions offered by the project. The following presentation was made by dr Zsuzsanna Nagy, manager of DHI Hungária Ltd., on the simulation model developed and applied in the framework of the project. The hydrological expert of the project, dr. Kálmán Buzás made a presentation on the analysis of the relationship between climate change and precipitation management at the level of the settlement, then Mr. Lajos Szenes, former mayor of Tát and one of the promoters of the project, made a speech on the importance of the achievements of the project.

The event was finished by the closing speech made by Mr. Tivadar Tóth, mayor of Tokod, who highlighted the relevance of the project for the two settlements and also invited participants for further discussion and a modest reception.
