Kick-off meeting of the project "Capacity building for local adaptation work"

The kick-off meeting of the project “Capacity building for local adaptation work” was organised in Budapest on 4 June 2015. The project is coordinated by the Climate Policy Institute and Applied Communications Association (short: “Energy Club”). The project will run until the end of 2016. The aim is to prepare the decision-makers and key experts of Hungarian municipalities for the mitigation of the unavoidable effects of climate change, and to use adaptation tools. As part of the project a short-course will be conducted about the challenges and opportunities of climate change on settlements. To support the training course an education material will be developed first. Altogether 140 municipal decision makers and local stakeholders will participate in the course. The training curriculum will put spatial emphasis on the methodology of assessing the vulnerability of various sectors, the tools of increasing resilience, as well as on the sectoral vulnerability studies.
